CLEVELAND, Ohio - Young Cleveland author and filmmaker Brendan Whitt, who is currently working on his masters in creative writing at Cleveland State University, published his first novella A Summer in Harlem in 2013. It tells of an Alabama teen, sent to Harlem for a visit during the summer of 1948, who discovers that the legendary Black arts mecca has been overrun by poverty, drugs and despair....
